Noninvasive Cardiologist

Job Description

Central Mississippi Medical Center is seeking a Board Certified Noninvasive Cardiologist to join established Invasive Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery practice which draws from a service area of 500,000 population.  It is a hospital employed position.

Compensation is $450 guaranteed base for 2 years, then RVU model in years following; commitment bonus, generous relocation allowance (house hunting/moving), 20 days of vacation, 5 days of CME/$3,500; customary employment benefits included, 401(k) and deferred compensation plan.  Call is 1:3.

Must be Board Certified in Cardiology.

Central Mississippi Medical Center, a 429-bed tertiary facility, has a service area that encompasses a population of over 1,000,000.  For more than 40 years, CMMC has been a leader in cutting-edge technology, including being the first hospital in Jackson to offer safer radiation treatments, including the State’s only gamma knife, one of the first hospitals in the nation to add a PET/CT scanner to is nuclear medicine department; the first hospital in Mississippi to offer several comprehensive programs including weight management, balance and hearing and wound management;  the first hospital to introduce a pediatric hospitalist program; the first in the area to offer digital mammography, combined with special computer-aided detection system; and most recently the first in the state to off the O-ARM Multidimensional Imaging System for us in spine and orthopedic surgery.  Its core centers of excellence include diagnostic and surgical cardiology, obstetrics and women’s health, cancer care services, emergency care with FastTrack, diabetes management, inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services, surgery (including bariatrics) and pediatrics.  Jackson is the capital of Mississippi and is located in the central part of the State.  The Jackson metropolitan area consists of Hinds, Madison, and Rankin Counties and has a population of 440,000.  Known as “The Crossroads of the South” because of its geographic location, Jackson is only 31/2 hours from Memphis, 3 hours from New Orleans, 51/2 hours from Atlanta and 6 hours from Dallas.  Primarily known for its southern hospitality and relaxed lifestyle, Jackson offers all of the amenities of a large city without the congestion or faster pace.  With its year round mild climate and the presence of 33,000 area reservoir, outdoor recreational activities and sporting events abound.  Cultural events are also plentiful including Broadway productions, symphony opera and international area exhibits.  Its strong economic growth has allowed Jackson to attract Nissan, a Bass Pro Shop Outdoor World store, and serve as home to the Mississippi Braves, a AA farm team to the Atlanta Braves.  The absence of HMO’s, coupled with a reasonable cost of living makes Mississippi a very attractive place to live and practice medicine.
